Camp Loyaltown is a sleep away camp located in the Catskill Mountains, 2 and 1/2 hours North of New York City and 3 hours north of Nassau County’s western border. Each year, more than 650 campers with developmental disabilities enjoy the wonders of the outdoors in a safe and fun environment while their parents enjoy much needed respite time.
Camp Loyaltown has been servicing the disabled community for over 40 years and is an accredited camp by the American Campers Association (ACA). Campers and staff live in modernized, rustic-style cabins which house anywhere from 4 to 12 campers and staff members. Each cabin has its own showers and restroom facilities.
Camp Loyaltown provides days packed with activities and most campers come home with improved independence. Campers enjoy miniature golf, pedal boating on the pond, swimming, adaptive playgrounds, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, a dance studio, performing arts, horseback riding, delicious and healthy hot meals, evening campfires, nature walks, hiking, and various craft studies - all conducted within a beautiful setting.
In addition to the camper experience, Camp Loyaltown provides valuable parent support and respite time. For many parents camp provides the only time alone for them during the year. Couples are able to spend together time and "me" time to take care of themselves.
