We need your support for our No Dough Dinner program. Your USO provides meals bi-weekly for active duty military families . . . and your help is needed for new kitchen equipment and renovations.
No gift is too small or too large as we strive to serve those who serve -- and be that place – home away from home! Please support and share this fundraiser on social media!
Many, if not all of you on this email blast, know about No Dough dinners.
Active-Duty personnel and their families, along with the families of those deployed Jacksonville-area military personnel are able to get a hot meal at no cost through the No Dough Dinner program, hosted by the Mayport and NAS Jax USO Centers.
The No Dough Dinners, primarily for enlisted personnel with the lowest pay grades of E-1 through E-4, have been going twice a month since 2008! That’s more than 600 home cooked meals every month prepared by a large corps of volunteers, a handful of staff, and supported, meal by meal by generous and engaged community sponsors.
We now have an urgent need for some kitchen upgrades!
• Our residential ice maker is no longer operational and we need to replace it with a commercial grade ice maker.
• We also need a commercial grade warming station to keep prepared items warm and safe prior to serving,
• Two new microwaves are also needed along with a variety of commercial grade kitchen accessories.
Please, as someone who knows the Jacksonville USO, and has a heart for our mission to . . . “Strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation”, support and share this fundraiser on social media!
