Archkids
In the fall of 2018, the Archkids architecture club designed an outdoor classroom pergola to benefit the students at the ALA Euclid campus. With the partnership of Kelly Weckman from READ MORE Lake Flato Architects and Armando Araiza, professor at UTSA Architecture Department, students explored the design of pergolas. They studied sun patterns to come up with interesting shade structures to provide much needed shade from the Texas sun. They used STEM techniques to manipulate materials to create their desired structure. Their end products were creative, whimsical and functional. Architect Allison Hu and her dedicated team met with the students to review their work and provide an interpretation of the students’ common themes. The students were not only involved in the conceptual design but also provided the architect with feedback during a design meeting in May 2018. In September of 2018, we hope to see the vision of the Archkids come to life at the Euclid campus. With the financial support of the SAISD Grant Foundation and the material and labor donated by Texas Timber Frames, we are on our way. We ask you to join in partnership with us by donating to support the extra cost for this project. This will allow us to add the details that will help complete the kids’ vision. Any amount small or large will help us bring the Archkids vision to life as well as to provide a unique space for our ALA students. Thank you in advance for your partnership. Fox Tech Magnet High School for Health and Law Professions
1:1 Initiative-Student laptops
Fox Tech Magnet High School is a college preparatory campus and we are working towards a 1:1 initiative so that every student has their own laptop (chromebook) to use for READ MORE the duration of their 4 years in high school at Fox Tech. Many of our students are in dual credit via UTSA or SAC or dual enrollment courses via On Ramps at UT-Austin that require them to work online in order to access their curriculum and/or course materials. Teachers on campus also use Google classroom, Khan Academy and other databases regularly for curriculum enhancement. Even though we have desktop computers on campus, students are not able to take those devices home and cannot do much needed homework once they leave our campus. The 1:1 initiative would allow ALL students the same opportunity to complete work at home and on weekends, not just those fortunate enough to already have devices. Any and all donations are important to meet our goal of raising funds to purchase 450 laptops for the entire student body. We are excited to see how this initiative will enhance student learning and student results over the next four years. Thank you in advance for your valued support. All donations are tax deductible.

2019 Birdies for Buffaloes Golf Tournament
The First Annual Birdies for Buffaloes Golf Tournament was created as a means to help current and former Fox Tech students with their transitions into college. This fundraiser will support students READ MORE in the following two ways: Class of 2020 Senior Scholarship Banquet We would like to host a Scholarship Dinner for students and parents to celebrate Senior's accomplishments, college acceptance and scholarship awards. This banquet will be a celebration of the culmination of the hard work of both the students and their parents to get their students on to the next chapter of their lives. We would like to be able to provide a sit down dinner for seniors and their parents along with a few scholarships to help students with transportation to college and/or the supplies needed to equip their dorm room. Bison Care Packages We would like to provide care packages to graduates of Fox Tech High School who are currently attending a college or university far from San Antonio, primarily outside of Texas. These students often have scholarships or financial aid to help pay for their course work, textbooks and potentially room and board; however, food is not always included in these funds. Often times our students don't have the means to return home for school breaks or holidays when schools are closed. We have heard from students that finding places that are easily accessible and affordable to eat during this time is difficult. We'd like to provide care packages for these students that include food they can prepare in their dorm, gift cards to purchase food near places on campus and other things to make these breaks less stressful for students.

MARIACHI PROGRAM for FOX TECH ALA CAST
The FOX TECH ALA CAST MARIACHI is one of the most loved and respected departments in the San Antonio area. However, it is also the most struggling. The goal of READ MORE our department is to help further the studies of a music style that is cultural, beautiful, and complex, yet so often looked down upon. Students work extremely hard to raise funds selling donation-based performances and ticket sales for our concerts throughout the school year. This requires uniform accessories, music scores, instruments, instrument accessories, and instrument maintenance. Not to mention Group competitions fees, Vocal competition, hotel, meals, etc. Many students that are lucky enough are able to meet the school in the middle by finding support from their family. Unfortunately, most mariachi students come from the most underprivileged of backgrounds. We kindly ask for your help, as we try to raise amounts for what we cannot do on our own. Please help us provide these kids with the basic tools they need to support the art of Mariachi! Thank you for your donation! Any amount is appreciated! Please use the link and share with all your friends!

Puerto Rico Energy Security Initiative

Tax Exempt

Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017 as a category 5 hurricane, destroying the electrical grid, severely damaging most buildings, and leaving Puerto Rico in a READ MORE state of humanitarian crisis. Directly following the hurricane, sonnen re-established connection with our premier partner, Pura Energía, to assess the damage and create a plan to help. After seeing the extent of the destruction on the island, sonnen and Pura Energía created the “Puerto Rico Energy Security Initiative” to support the Puerto Rican people by donating and installing 12 solar-powered microgrids in the areas most affected by the storm. The first microgrid was installed just 6 weeks after the hurricane. To this day, 12 humanitarian microgrids have been installed as part of the Puerto Rico Energy Security Initiative. These systems provide a long-term energy safety net, immediate energy capacity for life-saving services, and the humanizing return to normalcy that access to electricity can create for thousands of Puerto Ricans on a daily basis. The microgrids donated by sonnen and the del sol Foundation For Energy Security prove the concept that residential scale solar powered microgrids save lives, unify communities, and can also play a crucial role in disaster recovery. Help us create a safer energy security future for the people of Puerto Rico.
